the Xenon bulb is on its way out - light output changes, the light is flickering as the salts ignite and then solidify again, as their electrical properties are gone...
When you get the new bulbs, replace both sides, even though you might be tempted to replace just one side and not touch the other - the broken in light bulbs have the color output shifted, so the new light and the old light will look a bit odd...
and make sure, that you are NOT touching the crystal glass with bare hands, you will kill the bulb in a month... use some gloves or whatnot...
have you signature updated with some basing info...
