As is usual when you have a problem it is raining.
Then the lights dashboard started to flash just before I lost all electrical power apart from the wipers which were moving just enough for me to see, and then my X5 just cut out.
I managed to cruise to a halt right beside a service station, and my wife pulled up beside me.

Did you know what you were doing? I mean were you certain that driving under those conditions wouldnt damage the car, or any of the electronic modules in it?
Ive done some crazy drives- 150 miles without brakes from SF to the central valley; 120 miles without a power steering pump... but I've known, for a fact, what was at risk.
If a dealer told me to drive a car, I'd want it in writing or witnesses....
Hope you pick up the car, with no further issues.
