I've used my BEL RX65 plugged to the cig lighter, but had to tape it down to the dash. I also have a Valentine to put in the new X5.

Also thinking of getting one of those laser disrupting license plate covers. Any info on that out there?

Some of the troopers out there are learning to keep their radar set on low power. This gets you into their effective zone with miminal warning. If you "...feel the need, the need for speed" , you are going to have to invest $$$ for good radar detection. It will still be cheaper than the ticket and increased insurance premiums.

Sometimes your most effective warning device is your Mk-1 eyeball. You can't sit back and expect technology to do all the work.
