Depends if you are planning to keep the car until you junk it or planning on selling it at some point. If you are planning to keep it, and insurance totals it, buy it back, put a new door, paint it and you are good to go. If you plan on selling it, fight the insurance and hopefully they will fix it and not total it. Good luck.
