Due to this thread, I decided to check mine electonically, as I didn't recall the last time I did. Yup, sure enough, I get the same message (you would think the warning would come up when starting the car--you actually have to go and search for it yourself
). I had my annual oil change back in Sept mind you!
So I go and check the dipstick and this is what I see. First two pics are after I wiped the ds, last 2 are before wiping. Perhaps I've become accustomed to drinking the BMW koolaid and gotten use to the electronic ds, but shouldn't the oil line be between the two markings. As you can see, the oil is leveled with the MAX block.
I go and search for the invoices of when I received my 2 oil changes and the first one notes (7) quanities of oil, but my last oil change notes (8) quanities of oil
Looks like another trip to the dealer. I was just there for the steering bolt recall! While it's there, I should have them look into a faint whiff of diesel in the morning--probably that infamous diesel exhaust leak....
