I actually am using Shella Rotella T6 5w-40 with great results so far, after the horror stories of Mobil 1 on our engines I stopped with 0w-40 after almost 10 years of use on previous Volkswagens.

Fwiw, I have used M1 5W-30 in our 10 1/2 yr old VetteVert, since day one,
and M1 0W-40 in our 11 1/2 yr old X for the past 6+ years; neither have hiccuped once engine-wise, and neither show any oil based malady.
