I purchased the full maintenance on mine for $2699. I was expecting it to be more and wasn't going to get it. When they told me that price, I gladly paid cash for it.
My thought was, my X5 has 37k miles on it. If I keep it for another 63K miles, I'll easily spend more than $3000 on maintenance.

$2300 for a brake job? Does that include solid gold calipers?
I should have never paid for the extended maintennance, live and learn. I'll never do it again.
Tire Rack has Akebono pads for about $75 / axle plus a wear sensor is about $40 per axle. Stock rotors $160 front & $90 rear. A decent indie shop would do these for $300 labor per axle I would guess. So $1500 for a brake job. That leaves a bunch of money for four oil changes and a cabin air filter.
Ditch the "free" maintennance and get an extended warranty. You will likely need it.
