The running board is held on by clips and rivets and two bolts. Once taken off, the aluminum portion is attached by two plastic wedges, which are easy to break. You need to order the extra part for it and a few allen key screws. The plastic nubs just pop off as you push it down.
Once off, I brought it to this local powder coater by my way. He charged me little for it since it was a simple job. Received it back and installed.
Since its fairly new, I don't know how it will hold. I hope its fine. I'm going snowboarding this weekend. That'll be a decent test.

Doesn't sound too bad. My dealer told me they can do it, but they don't guarantee it will stay on. So I'm looking into powder coating, either colour match, gloss or even the black/slate colour like my iPhone 5s back, I love it! If I do the iPhone colour, I will also do the front sills in the same colour, and maybe the tow hitch
