Programming the DME (ECU)
I recently learned from a third party aftermarket supplier that the DME (ECU) on our cars can only be (re)programmed nine (9) times. After that is needs to be replaced. They recommend to only reprogram the vehicle when it is necessary.

Can anyone verify? What constitutes (re)programming?
