Yes, electric or electromechanical power steering is what is in new BMWs.
Lot of new tech from LCI 7er and new 3er as part of Efficient Technology plus some first time new tech in BMW. X5 is above 3er so if its in 3er you can expect in X5.
Weight saving is big in new X5, and the technology used to achieve that.
Park Assistant, Contactless tailgate opening, new surround view, traffic sign recognition, Adaptive LED headlights, night vision, etc.etc.......
