No, the car will actually smooth out with higher RPMs. You need to picture this in your head. When in drive, there is not enough torque to lift up and tension the bad mount, so at idle, in gear, the mount is not functioning, but hitting since most likely the oil has no pressure anymore. Once you apply throttle, the mount tensions, and smooths out.

Try this, turn on AC while idling in drive. Assuming your AC works, your idle will increase just slightly, and I bet the vibration will get just slightly less.
