Do you know that it is slipping? Are you able to tell, or is it a guess?

Is it any different in regular mode, sport mode (automatic) or manual mode?

If you narrow it down, and it appears you have an internal transmission problem, then you can always decide to change the fluid and see if it helps. It may do so. Don't count on it, but it is cheaper as a first step than tearing open the transmission.

You appear to be connecting the transmission drain question with your breaking the hose when you tried to change the valve cover gaskets. One issue at a time. Fix the valve cover gasket, make sure all the vacuum hoses are connected, and then move on to the transmission issue.
