No, it won't improve the performance. You have a cold air intake. What you are referring to as a cold air intake is often actually worse, they take air from under the hood and so should be called warm air intakes. These devices are sold as underhood jewelry; they are designed to look good to those raising the hood, but they have no functional purpose.
