Did you run these tire sizes through a tire size calculator? There are many to choose from and are as simple to find as typing "tire size calculator" into a google or bing search box.
I believe the recommended wheel width for a 275/40 tire is 9"-11" & the recommended wheel width for 315/35 tire is10.5"-12.5". But again, do a google search for a tire calculator, or search for vredstein tires and look up the "specs" and you should see a recommended wheel width listed.
Good luck....and if you're into the "stretched" look...then again, be careful and you'll need to find someone who'll mount them for you.
