I turned both on and let heat up for about 5 mins before I decided to look at them and judge quality. Sadly, I noticed the cheap $25 5w led were exactly as bright during the day. I left them in and checked them again at night and the same thing, both were same brightness in color (kelvins rating) and lumens. I even noticed one drawback... the 2 metal cased resistors per bulb heated up a fair bit, but the cheap $25 5w e-bay specials were cool as cucumbers still.
Hate to say this but I wasted a hundred bucks for this r&d project.
OP, I hope you get your money refunded since it broke already.
so in summary... they are crap for their cost.
