So long as there are no personal attacks, we won't shut down a thread. We pride ourselves in both the caliber of people who post, and in the fact that we do not censor. That is, of course, unless there are personal insults involved.

We've had lively political- and socioeconomic-related threads in the past; they, too, became lively. We have not yet seen a reason to shut them down.
