I have read all posts in this thread and am aware of the problem you were having. I was responding to your comment that coil overs are the only way to safely lower an X as I took as a comment about all X5s. You can drop yours safely about 1.5 inches by replacing the regulating arms (12) with adjustable arms. It fools the air suspension You may not be interested after what you have been through. Good to hear you have resolved the issue. Things like that are like chronic pain to me, they just wear you down.
