EDIT:
I dont know why the pics wont go where I want them. I havn't got time to work it out now, so the pics are in order at the bottom. Sorry.
PIC 1
Ok, here are some pics.
Firstly, the Eonon

The good part about this unit is it fitted in directly. No modification was required. The bad points were endless. the worst thing is that it got almost no radio reception, so the radio was effectivley useless. That didnt really matter, because it randomly chose its own input every time you started the car. Somtimes it would swap inputs while you were driving.
Im not sure what nav software it came with but if was very slow and hard to use. the bluetooth had to be set up everytime you started the car and the delay was frightfull. There were many other issues as well.
PIC2
So. The Dynavin D39A 99+
I wish I got photos of the install, I am not the type of bloke to stop and document what Im doing. I like to get in and get the job done.
There was a bit of modifying to do to the dash and the bracket supplied is very well engineered and produced. Its just that its for an E39 and therefore pretty well useless for the X5.
Unfortunatley, I dont think I would be able to retro fit the original unit now, but Im hoping Ill never have to.
PIC3
The radio reception is equal to factory.
PIC4
The menu system is big and easy to navigate.
PIC5
Parrot Bluetooth works a charm. It loads your full directory and your call log instantly. Delay is not too bad. It comes with an external microphone, but Im only using the internal one at the moment. Seems to work fine.
It also connects automatically whenever Im near the car, unlike the Eonon.
PIC6
Reverse camera was a bit of a bitch to hook up, but well worth it.
My advice would be to get a hard wired one though. I got a wireless thinking I would not need to run wires through the car, but I still had to run a trigger wire. The reception breaks up with passengers in the back seat.
PIC7
Ipod, USB. Does not charge ipod unfortunatley.
PIC8
SD card
PIC9
Advanced settings screen.
If you have reverse sound on, it cuts about 30dB from the sound volume.
I had the Porsche logo up for a while and when my 13yo daughter saw it she said, I thought we had a BMW, not a porsche. LOL.
PIC10
Navigation 1st time load up screen.
PIC11
Sat nav gets great reception. I wish I could tap into the factory GPS antenna. This pic shows the Dynavin one double sided taped to the windscreen.
Overall, the unit is better than I expected, but it will be interesting to see how it goes longterm.
Next on the agenda is a wi fi dongle and patch so I can connect to the internet via ny phone.
Ill keep Ya'all updated.
Cheers Ben.
