Idle issues at startup and P1415 error

Hi all... I've just recently acquired a 2008 X5, 3.0 (53,000 mi) model and after a few weeks of ownership a couple of issues have come up which may or may not be related. First after a week or so of driving it I decided to do the reset throttle response (just because, new owner new reset) where you press & hold the accelerator for 10 seconds, etc.. Right after I did this everytime I start up the engine I get a very rough idle where the RPM's go up and down and then the car dies. The RPM's get low enough to where the engine quits. The only way to keep it running is by giving it a little gas at start up and keeping that going for about 30 seconds. After that, the idle returns to normal and runs fine.

Well... after a day like and even before I tried anything to fix the issue, I get engine code error P1415. I stopped by Autozone to get the code read and this is what I got:

Air System Bank 1 fault
Explanation: During the air system test the ECM looks for a change in the O2 sensor voltage - No change was detected
Probable Cause:
1. Air pump electrical circuit fault
2. Blocked Air System
3. Failed Air Pump

So my first question is, has anyone experienced this or anything similar? and two; did the reset cause the error code?

This just happened today and I'm still researching this issue but if anyone has any imput I most appreciate it.

Thanks,

E
