Ok, rookie mistake and I feel like an idiot!!!!! Before I did the throttle response reset I added a quart of oil to the truck because it was a little low... well I did not screw the cap tight enough and it was loose and spilling a little oil ... As soon as I tighten up the oil cap the car started up nice without any hesitation in the RPM's and after clearing the code it has not come back. It's amazing how a little mistake like this can cause so many issues but luckily I caught it quick and no damage done.
