Your mpg will improve but not by much. My '10 with what was then called the performance package averaged 11.8 with my daily hwy/city commute. I would get close to 17 mpg on road trips. I too have that problem with my right foot.

Congrats and enjoy your ride. And don't forget to keep the windows open so you can hear that awesome growl. It beats any tunes you can listen to.
