Issue is resolved now, you were correct in your diagnosis, i found a damaged/ stretched wire in the boot, looks like it had got caught or damaged by the towbar been put in and out of its holder.

Hi Karl, looks like you made it. Is it possible to add some more description like what wire, color etc. If possible some pictures.
