Good news (for me, at least): I found a new OEM hitch kit at a dealership. It was at Wagner BMW in MA, but they said it was the last one they had in stock. Pretty good price too - $396 + shipping. I was pretty surprised to find one at a dealership, since several dealers told me they had checked the national database and none were in stock.

So for anyone else looking, it might be worth it to call around a whole lot of dealers, even if it seems like nobody has one. Otherwise, I probably would have pulled one off of a junkyard car. It would definitely have been cheaper that way, anyways. After reading around, I had pretty much ruled out using an aftermarket hitch. It'd probably be fine for lighter duty, but I wouldn't be comfortable pulling 3,500 lbs on the highway and up and down a boat ramp.

Nice boat! I'm pulling an inboard ski boat too - a 1989 Supra Mariah.
