the arches on the front are the same, unless you have the factory wide-body kit (typical for diesels in europe), rear arches are flared out on "iS" and flare out at the top and then taper in on the diesels (two similar parts for rear arches, the"iS" is $160 and the diesel is $25)

with that light "surge" of yours... next time under the car, look at guibo - that rubber flex disk on the driveshaft. could be cracked, worn... check the rear suspension as well, the bushings could be gone...

read up on the fluid changes- some people reported problems in tranny after fluid change...
