I'm flying into NY for a few days with my son next week. We are staying in central Manhatton, but also have a room booked at Niagara for one night.

I was going to hire and drive, but based on the fact that time is against us I've decided to fly from NY.

I've looked on the internet and can go from Newark NJ to Buffalo then a cab to the hotel for around $200 return (for both of us, not each). A couple of questions:

How far is Newark from Manhatton by Taxi?
Is this the best airport to fly from?
Does the cost seem OK?
