I mean, to me, 178K is a LOT of miles, and it's not a vehicle I'll be keeping forever (I'm one that likes to switch / upgrade every couple years). I would probably be putting 10-15K on it per year. However, the 178K car is a one owner and it's been very well taken care of.

Mileage has some bearing as it does on any vehicle, but the service history is where the gold is. Im about to sell my 2001 that has 185k on the clock, but I bought it from a friend who always maintained it and since Ive owned it I've carried that on. For instance, timing chain guides tend to fail on these and I've replaced them. etc. Just look for one that has had the big ticket items done. The engines are great aside from the chain guides and the cooling systems are weak. I have friends that have 300k on the 4.4 with no issues yet, just regular maintenance. So don't be consumed with the odometer.

I guess I'll find out how the market responds to mine soon.
