Another good place to find some numbers is cars direct.com...while it will not tell you what inventory is around, it will give you numbers you can use. I always build them online there and then check the numbers. Typically they show you most of the "money in the trunk". As well, a print out in hand when walking into the dealer will force them to play or get out.
I have bought (leased) my wife's last three vehicles from cars direct as dealers would not negotiate and I was able to get it from carsdirect with a discount and great lease rate. It's a little tough walking back into the same dealer and seeing the salesman who said no to you whilst you pick up exactly what you wanted and know he's not getting a dime. Last time the sales manager pulled me aside and asked that I please just come to him directly when this lease is up as he wants to beat the number i get online. The only downside is other than signing paperwork, the dealer just hands me the keys and I drive off, no orientation (though this last care came with full service as they do see it as the third purchase I made from the dealer).
As a rule of thumb I always use their site to gather information before I go to try and negotiate and if they can't beat the deal, I know i can get the car for the advertised price on the Carsdirect website.....
