I don't know...I spent like $45 on a new piece and it took me about an hour to replace. I think I'd be willing to do a replacement a couple of times before I fooled around with paint or wrap.

Unless you did it with the trim still on the wheel, you still have to take off the old trim piece, and that's what takes the time. Putting on the new one is about five minutes of the work.

And while I can't guarantee it, it looks to me like the new piece is made differently. I think it may not have the flaking problem the original did. Good luck.
