I would venture to say that seeing as the electrochromo's are a fair bit more to replace than the standard mirror (blue tinted glass) that your truck came with the electro's.
IMO the electro chromatic ones are a nice option to have if you do alot of night driving.
As for the heating, its controlled via one of the dozen modules on the truck based on exterior temperature automatically. It's a completely automatic system; no need to turn the heating on/off manually like the old school mirror defrost!

Jesus thats a fat bastard! The rover is a bit more "old man" (softer, more plush ride) where as the X5M would be a bit too pure performance oriented for round here....BOTH are absolutely gorgeous rides though! Not too sure about the torque curve on the X5M motor, the Rover puts out it's peak at something like 2500 rpm.....comes out of the hole at like warp 10! lol
