Sounds like a transmission problem!Still,since the dealer cant find a fault,I suggest you go back to the dealer and try another X5 3.0 Diesel(can be a used car but Automatic!)and simply compare the two!If the "other" 3.0 Diesel rockets off the line in normal "D",then the dealer has to admit that theres something wrong with yours!
I have a Auto 2003 X5 3.0 Diesel and mine,even before I did some engine mods,used to rocket off the line(well.for a 2 ton car ,anyway!)
