I'm sure that it had something to do with the voltage. I found that keeping one of the standard bulbs in, made the other side work. So I tapped into the wires for the housing, and wired the old bulb directly on it. I covered it with black electrical tape, and then inserted the new LED. Behold. My new LED puddle lights were successful. So a tip for anyone with a similar problem. Wire the old light bulb directly onto the wires, then insert the new LED in the housing. Worked perfectly.
