The 3M kit I used came with a drill attachment and sanding/buffing discs for the drill. Use the drill on a low speed setting and you won't have any issues. Mild pressure, low setting. Takes about 10-15 minutes to get each light looking brand new.

Harbor freight has the 3M kit for around 16 bucks, includes the drill attachment, various grade sanding discs, a buffing foam pad and cream polish.
