11 Xdrive 5.0 Low Speed Throttle a Little Jumpy
Does anyone else with a 4.4 TTV8 think the throttle response at low speeds is a little bit edgy? What I mean, is from low speeds when I go to press down on the accelerator I need to be more careful than I would care to. I need to exercise more concentration than I think I should in order for the car to accelerate slowly and evenly.
Example - someone (my wife, myself or one of our daughters) will be stopped at a corner waiting to pull out and turn the corner. Then, traffic will clear up enough to pull out and turn, as long as one does it reasonably soon. It is at this point when you try to moderately accelerate that it becomes difficult to give the car "just enough" throttle to pull out quickly, but not unnecessarily fast. What usually happens is the car (it does have the ability) pulls out under too much throttle and the driver ultimately, says to the passengers, "sorry about that" (as the car rips around the corner unnecessarily fast).
Don't misunderstand me - I love my 5.0, and it is a beast, but it would be nice if I could dole out the power in finer increments, as need dictated.
Thx!
