It will be a different world for you, coming from a 4.6is.

70-90mph is the sweet spot for 35d, torque is at the peak. Really fun to drive, as the response is instant without downshift.
But it can fool you into thinking that it is faster that it really is. Especially coming from a gasoline engine, where torque is in higher revs (the surge happens after gear kick down).
You may find yourself disappointed if you floor the pedal at highway speed. If the tranny shifts down a gear or two, at those high RPMs (4500-5000 is high for a diesel engine) there's nothing there but noise.
Just the nature of the diesel engine: low end torque. Makes it fun to drive in bursts, but don't let the RPM go high.

Recently drove a 328d (xdrive 2.0L turbo diesel) loaner. What a fun car to drive! 280lb/f at 2K RPM.
Is it faster 0-150 than its 328i gasoline brother (also drove it)? No, it's slower to60mph by half a second. More fun? I have to say yes, because I didn't have to be in 'race mode' to enjoy it.
