Unlike the sedan counterparts, there isn't flexibility between touring and SAV racks. Those could also be for an E39 which is a lot shorter. Good news is if the seller doesn't know what he's selling, have him do a quick measurement shortest distance between the 2 clamps for both bars and measure your rails. So if it's a quarter of an inch within then you're good.

The X3 bars are about 3" shorter from the X5 and the touring bars are another 4" shorter.
