Clockwork is on a distinguished road
OK, so I finally did this repair over the holidays but I have to ask, does anyone know if the motor responsible for folding the mirrors in can be bought separately, OR would I have to buy the entire black metal base which probably encompasses the motor too? Mine seems to be "tired" or weak as it sometimes folds in and stays in and sometimes folds back out. Even after doing this fix with the switches, one of my mirrors folds in slowly and not all the way (though I believe its my fault for that as I believe I modified the white ring on the exterior of the folding motor to see if it would solve my problem (notches where the limit switch fall into) and it has but now I feel I caused It to stop folding in so much now. I could just build up the area that I cut away... but the motor sounds tired anyhow, so maybe just buying the parts to solve 2 problems in one shot...
Anyhow, thanks for this write up Sarb as I know its helped me a bunch to fix that limit switch

here is a video of a power folding motor being taken apart
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cWln6UQOQI this is the part I need to fix myself.
PS: you can see the white ring I spoke about which I slightly modified on mine.
