Thanks for the tips, those little things like the O-rings on the air distribution piece and doing the vacuum line for the SAP should be a nice springtime Saturday repair, for only a couple bucks. I'll check E46Fanatics (which always freezes on my work computer) or Bimmerfest for DIY's for M54.
I used just the O-ring from GAS for the DISA for now, but I'll do the whole kit eventually. check my post in the CCV thread, I'm thinking about 75k miles should be a good CCV interval for me, would give me peace of mind to know the pieces are new.
