that X survived only for another year or so after that... before the engine went kaput... that X had all the problems described in every problem thread on this forum... lol... and i still went for another E53... fo figure... lol...

at the time i had replaced both front half shafts, and that alone rectified the weird noises i was getting from the front... it also minimized the "guibo" vibration, to the point that i postponed the replacement, since visual inpection of the guibo was fine... i still have the part in the garage, keep it as the guibo was a same part on multiple cars of that vintage...

check some other forums - i think the E38 forum has a better guibo coverage...
