Recently purchased an X5, long story but it looks like my MKIII died. The radio still produces sound but the screen is dead.

Before I pull the trigger on repairing the MK3, replacing it with a MK4 or going full aftermarket, I need to quickly add a aux input.
FM modulator is out of the questions because I cant read the screen and my antenna doesnt work. Without the screen I also cant access the CD changer. Since its an older model (made late 2001) there is no Aux connector behind the headunit - that would have been too easy.

So I've decided to try and hardwire into the cassette leads. This would be easy if it didnt have the Nav 16:9 screen i could just follow these simple instructions.

I took the headunit apart and our boards are different. I dont see how to hardwire in the the tapedeck board and I dont want to risk hacking the main board as its very tight.

So I started looking at the pinouts and schematics and since the amp and brain are are actually in the trunk, its my understanding that the tape audio must be sent, analog, from the headunit, to the trunk.
These pinouts would lead me to believe if I cut into pins 1, 2, 6, 7 on connector X18805 and wired a 3.5M jack, I would have a Aux in.

Does anyone have a pinout diagram of the two connectors on the back of the screen?
If this theory is true I could wire in the 3.5M jack in the cabin directly so when a cassette is played the audio from the aux would be played instead. The aux would be slip streamed into the amp...

Anything I overlooked?
