It's hard to determine without actually testing it out. But if it's a nominal lag, it might be normal. You can try resetting the trans or if that doesn't work you might want something like a Sprint Booster.

I had one on a 550i, i liked it at first but then I got used to it. Our X doesnt have it, but it's a 3.0 and it's slow .
