From what I've gathered, lots of people have done this on E36's and E46's but I can't find a definitive answer on if that solution will also work on an M54B30. This is basically stemming from my not wanting to replace the vacuum hoses and valves from the SAP valve around the back of the engine to the vacuum valve controlled by the DME under the intake manifold. Yes, I'm crazy... but we already knew that...
