First of all, I thank all for the replies. Many great thoughts, recommendations and might I add "observation".

The reason I have 'Hisenberg' is because 'Heiseberg' wasn't available.

Now back to original issue. To clarify, I have an 06' X5 E53 with 4.8is. I went back and ran the battery voltage test in the instrument cluster. These two figures showed up. 10.5 and 11. I realize those are concerning numbers.

What bugs me is, the battery is brand new. The battery that was initially replaced is only a year old. How can all these issue arise when the car sits 90% of the time.

In addition to previously stated problems, the ABS, 4x4, Check Engine & brake light are now on. Transfailsafe message also appears. When I start the cold soaked car, all kind of weird belt noises are heard. But again, I have driven only 2 miles in last month. How can the car just break when it is not even being driven.

The recommendation for the battery to be registered with the car was proposed to me by a local BMW workshop. Orr Autosport in Minneapolis to be precise.
