Understood. Tell me this, if I say watch netfix on the monitor will it be very small and not to the proper scale of the screen? Since it's 1080 content on a device outputting 1080?

as far as motion unlock - i use a hardware microcontroller for the unlock, that gives me two features - it allows me to turn the TV-in-motion ON and OFF (i guess for law enforcement or technical inspection pass) and also allows to pass an alternative sound source... without the hardware you might only have the mono... i am not sure about this one...

Interesting... How many video inputs does the OEM TV module have? Just 1 aux in or is there also one for backup camera? Will I need a OEM backup camera module to integrate a camera video feed in?

on your Nexus picture i spy an additional device next to TV, probably the actual receiver... does it have to have a stand alone wifi router? the HTC uses a router too but in absence of one, connects directly to the gadget...

Built in routing Term. it receives the wifi display signal and converts it to HDMI output.
The device in the pic is shown twice once in foreground enlarged for detail as it is quite small (smaller than a deck of cards) and the other next to the tv showing it connects into the HDMI port of the television.

i'd like to see your execution of this as well as any other possible solutions... keep us posted...
I will definitely keep you posted and contact u for assistance if Term.

What are you using for the hdmi to analog conversion before you input into the tv module?
I've seen straight cable solutions - HDMI male to RCA's for as cheap as 16.00 on fleabay but the reviews are mixed and then the box solutions for 40 and ^ Which do you run?

Also I plan on using the 3.5mm factory aux in to input the audio signal from the HDMI to analog conversion solution. (It's installed in glove box for now)

If I remember correctly didn't you say you tune the audio signal in using the aux input mode and then you can hold the clock button and override the screen with the AUX video input from the tv module and still hear the audio signal from the aux input audio feed?

This is what I want to achieve
