my last vehicle was "big tahoe" 1996 Chevrolet tahoe with 109k on the clock that I paid $10k for used. I drove it for 11 years, and sold it for $1500... the math is good there, considering I only put tires, breaks, alternator, battery and fuel pump into it. ( there was the snap-ring break on the output shaft of the transfer case, but that was a $5 fix! )

We had a 94 Suburban that was horribly troublesome. Alternators galore, suspension issues transmission issues, it was one thing after the other.
I think any major manufacturer is likely to make good & bad cars of the same model. I knew a guy that had A good 80's Jaguar XJ.
