Fluid wasn't too thick, but was probably low since ATF contracts when it is cold out there not like Milk and Water which expands when it is cold outside.
Note that the ATF has to be a certain temperature when you check it. If you drive it to a shop or dealer, the ATF will be too HOT and will give you a false reading
