There is an actual updated cold climate dipstick guide tube which should be installed at the time of cold weather CCV updated parts.
There is a BMW SIB from 2009 that I posted recently with the part number. Not replacing the tube as well at time of cold weather parts install may not yield optimal performance of the oil separator.
I am thinking about opening up my cold weather CCV that I just bought before install to be sure the diaphragm is assembled correct. I also have the cold weather dipstick guide tube to make my CCV replacement complete according to BMW standard
