Another droning sound head banger (for me at least)

Good morning people from the internet
After few years of happy ownership my 2005 3.0i x5 developed a really loud droning sound coming from the front at any speed. So naturally i changed the front wheel bearings with new ones from the dealership thinking that this will be the cure and the sound will go away. How ever.... the sound is still there.
Really annoying.
So next step was to search online ....some say tires may have gone bad...
tires are good year assurance and are no more than 4 years old (not the newest rubber but still looks fine plenty of tread no signs of drying....etc.)
The sound is from the get go so i do not think tires are a problem here.
Other people say carrier bearing on the drive shaft.
The car have 105 000 mls. Is it possible ?
I am lost... i just want to hear what do you guys think before i start blindly changing tires and bearings all over again.
Thanks for any input.
