The X is at 93k miles right now and celebrating its 10th birthday as we speak. Brought it home with 10 miles on the odometer on March 5th, 2004 and never looked back. Didn't even crossed my mind at the time to get any extended warranty after the original 4 years/50k manufacture warranty expired; knowing all sorts of loopholes that are built into every single extended warranties out there. I would rather sock away my own "warranty money" so I can decide when and what I want to replace/fix rather than handing over my money to someone who elect to tell me what I can or cannot repair...just my 2 pennies

So far, the X has been super reliable...never left me stranded. Nothing major other than your normal maintenance. The 2 most costly operating expenses are gas and tires, which it loves to gobble up. Staggered 19s are so expensive...I'm lucky if I can get a set to go 20k I think I spent more money on tires than repairs on the car
