I am 100% serious- There is nothing about buying a car that you can leave to the integrity of a car dealership employee. Sure, many are great- but the risk of having one mess up and cost you dearly is enough that you simply cannot take anything on faith.

I will say my IMPRESSION in some of these "its the only BMW dealer in the state" places, is that they fall way short on anything but selling a new car at $500 under MSRP. just an impression, I am sure 10 people will say Mr. Herrin is their kids' godfather.

It matters because I am looking at doing a 3 way "dealer trade with Herrin-Gear BMW" that involves my fully paid for X5 50i, a customer they "say they have" for my car and a car I want at another dealer 1,000 miles away ... and I am 1,000 miles away from either dealer!
Complicated? Yes ... Doable, sure, as long as everything is in writing and the transacting dealer has integrity ...
