I'm a little confused on what you're saying, unless you're talking about the old 8-track tapes. I have no clue about those, they're older than me.

I'm talking about 8tracks, the music app. There should be no reason why the app doesn't work as it just is a music player through your phone. As long as the bluetooth adapter is A2DP compatible, it will play any type of music from your phone just fine.

And one more benefit that I've found out from using it. When I have a navigation app opened (such as Google Maps), the sound goes through the car speakers also and not through the phone speakers, which would sometimes happen if I had just my aux cable plugged in.
